Subject: Take Action: DOT Request for Reauthorization proposals

Hi All,

The US DOT is requesting stakeholders submit their priorities for transportation reauthorization.  This is an opportunity to push back on Secretary Duffy's claim that communities do not want investment in bike infrastructure.  We would ask that you consider submitting comments as well that promote bicycling and walking access and safety.

To help organizations we have drafted a template letter. I would ask that you personalize it -
  • Add or subtract based on your priorities,
  •  Include information about your community,  and
  • Adjust the language to sound natural to you.
For Individuals we have an action alert (that includes some bullet points on the League's priorities including local governments in decision-making, making our streets safer and speeding up project delivery for small projects)

Your comments can be as simple as ensuring biking and walking safety.   Here is a great example of citizen comments asking to prioritize rail, transit and biking and walking.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Caron
