Everyone,
The city of Capitola in Santa Cruz County, California recently put out a survey
to effectively reduce all purpose traffic lanes to add Class IV/"Protected" bike lanes.
The survey also covers other things such as street furniture, trees etc but I thank you in advance for taking a look at it and let them know the real impact of such changes.
I did so, pointing out, among other things, the debacle of doing so on Capitola's Bay Ave.

Thank you.

Done -- thank you for the opportunity. I stressed to them that I am a transportation cyclist (i.e., VMT reducer, not one of the lycra-clad club riders), and how well properly designed Class II bike lanes work. I gave them absolute hell about the dangers inherent in bollards, emphasizing driveway exits, as well as right hooks and left crosses and the entire false sense of security sham.

Thanks so much John!
Just for info, here is Capitola's Bay Avenue Project debacle I mentioned.
