Young CAADRIA Award (YCA)

 

The Young CAADRIA Awards are funded by CAADRIA and administered jointly by the CAADRIA Young CAADRIA Award Committee, the Paper Selection Committee, and the Conference Host. Decisions will be made after paper acceptance.


The award is applied to conference registration fees only and is non-transferable (e.g., awardees cannot assign the award to co-authors). If an awardee does not attend the conference, the award will be forfeited.

 

Eligibility

Applicants must be currently enrolled students (full-time or part-time) at the time of application, including:

  1. PhD students
  2. Master’s students
  3. Undergraduate students

 

Key Information

  1. Applicants may apply only after their paper has been accepted for inclusion in the conference program.
  2. Award recipients are selected before the conference and will be exempt from paying the conference registration fee.
  3. Applications will be assessed based on the accepted paperCV, and supporting documents (up to 5 additional documents), such as selected publications, awards, or evidence of research excellence.
  4. Awards are granted on merit, considering the paper’s quality, contribution, relevance to CAADRIA, and the applicant’s depth of research engagement.
  5. The award may be received more than once across different years, subject to merit.
  6. Typically, no more than one student per university per year will receive the award.

 

Assessment Criteria

Applications will be evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Clarity of concept
  • Understanding of context
  • Quality of writing
  • Strength of research track record (CV)
  • Applicability and relevance to broader architectural research
  • Contribution and alignment with CAADRIA research community

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • List of publications
  • Accepted paper (final accepted version as required by the conference)
  • Up to five (5) supporting documents (optional; see above)
