The ARIADNE Linked Data SIG met during CAA 2014 at the Panthéon-Sorbonne and the 14 of us had an extended discussion about a range of Linked Data activities and initiatives. It was great to meet up with folk and make new contacts and hear about some exciting initiatives. The minutes of the meeting are available on the ARIADNE website http://www.ariadne-infrastructure.eu/Community/Special-Interest-Groups/Linked-Data and contain a really useful set of references (at least from my perspective) resulting from the discussion. If you can spot anything we missed please email in and we can try to build an evolving list of LOD references.

There seemed to be quite a few Linked Data related papers and sessions. From the ones I attended, the following appeared particularly relevant:
http://caa2014.sciencesconf.org/browse/session?sessionid=5225 Ontologies and standards for improving interoperability of archaeological data: from models towards practical experiences in various contexts
http://caa2014.sciencesconf.org/browse/session?sessionid=5249 Linked Data Approaches to Numismatic Catalogues

Several of the workshops also connected with LOD http://caa2014.sciencesconf.org/resource/page/id/29

As far as ARIADNE is concerned, most Linked Data activity is still to take place. Our own work at USW has been focused on the SENESCHAL project. See http://www.ariadne-infrastructure.eu/News/SENESCHAL-Project and Ceri Binding has recently blogged on the web services and widgets associated with the linked data vocabularies http://www.heritagedata.org/blog/vocabularies-in-a-useful-form/

The next phase for ARIADNE is likely to focus on the issue of mapping between thesauri and vocabularies, practical guidelines for doing this particularly when mapping between vocabularies in different languages. Any tips or experience with this please let us know!
