Announcing the M.G. Patel Initiative – A Tribute to Vision, A Platform for Transformation

Dear Members,

The Chartered Accountants Association, Ahmedabad, is honoured to announce the launch of the M.G. Patel Initiative, a landmark program established in the memory of Late Shri Manubhai G. Patel, a leader whose legacy continues to guide the values and progress of our profession.

This initiative is made possible through the generous contribution and support of the Patel family, who have envisioned this as a platform not only to honour Shri Manubhai’s ideals but to actively empower future generations of Chartered Accountants in their professional journeys.

Why This Initiative?

Shri Manubhai G. Patel was a rare visionary - a professional who believed in preparing the community not just for today’s challenges, but for tomorrow’s transformations. His belief in early technology adoption, capacity building, and collaborative learning were far ahead of his time.

The M.G. Patel Initiative has been designed to carry forward that vision - not just as a memorial, but as a living ecosystem of programs and activities that will continuously uplift the CA fraternity.

What the Initiative aspires to do

The initiative will act as a multi-pronged platform that focuses on three pillars:

1. Technology Adoption & Digital Enablement

   • Hackathons, design challenges, and solution-building sprints tailored for the CA domain

   • Awareness programs on emerging tools (AI, automation, data analytics, RegTech, etc.)

   • Implementation roadmaps for small and mid-sized CA practices to go digital

2. Professional Upskilling & Practical Learning

   • Curated short courses on niche and evolving technology areas 

   • Structured mentorship programs led by senior professionals

   • Learning modules on soft skills, leadership, and digital tools for practice growth

3. Thought Leadership & Community Engagement

   • Research reports, use case libraries, and practical toolkits

   • Events and conferences to promote dialogue around innovation in the CA ecosystem

   • Enabling Gujarat’s positioning as a hub for CA-tech integration in India

First Flagship Program: Hackathon 2025

To kickstart this initiative, we are excited to announce the Professional Hackathon 2025, scheduled for November 1, 2025. This event will invite professionals, students, and innovators to design practical, tech-led solutions to real-world problems faced by accountants, tax practitioners, and finance professionals.

Further details on themes, participation guidelines, and mentorship opportunities will be shared shortly.

We invite all members - senior professionals, young CAs, and students to join this journey:
