Dear Chessfriends,
We are issuing this list one last time on the Internet only. There are
again another 10 to 15 new items including some that were sold out during
the last sale.
Now, we want to clear the stuff remaining.
The prices on the enclosed list can be reduced by 40%, i.e., the prices
shown are the old prices and you can deduct 40% from these prices. (This
will be the last attempt to move these books at reduced prices. After this
sale, the prices go back to the listed prices. We will honor these prices
until June 1, 1998!) Postage for Canada is $5 for the first book and $2 per
book thereafter with free postage for orders totalling $500 or more. US
residents must pay 20% of the new prices with a minimum of $15 with no free
postage available. Sorry, but the postage to the US is quite expensive and
one can buy considerable books at these ridiculously low prices! If you wish
to pay in US$, please calculate the amount owing and multiply by .75, i.e.,
take 75% of the Canadian$ amount.
(N.B. I am seeing new DOVER books at $8 for the smallest books
to $12 for mid size books. Normal SC's of Cadogan and Batsford are running
at $30 ++.)
There are about 10 to 15 items included in lists one and two that were not
on the previous lists. Discounts apply to these books also.
My fax number is 416-236-4136.
My e-mail address is j...@echo-on.net
My phone number is 416-236-4136. This is the line I use for the internet.
It has an answering machine on it most of the time. My line with an
answering machine all the time is 416-234-0207. These two numbers are at
home.
Regards,
Ken
P. S. This is the list with all items remaining after our recent sale. Terms
remain the same.

During the late 60's and early 70's, The Chess Player and Chess Digest
published small SC tournament books which were something like bulletins in
that they contained all the games but rarely had any notes. We are grouping
the books we have from this series in the following section of the list.
0247. USSR 39th Championship.
1971, 238 gms., 52pp. $4
0249. San Antonio 1972. 130 gms. 38pp. $3
There is another group of tournament books of no pattern. They are small SC
booklets with few pages. Since they are published by various sources, there
is no common description to attach to them other than short and SC. We will,
therefore, describe each as we go along. They are presented in chronological
sequence, as usual.
0252. Moscow 1976, 44th USSR Championship.
153 gms., 36pp. Karpov wins. $4
0253. Leningrad 1977, 45th USSR Championship.
126 gms. 40pp. Dorfman = 1st with Gulko. $4
0254. Tilburg 1978. 66 gms., some notes
Informant style notation, 14pp. $3
0255. Bugojno 1978. 120 gms., some notes
Informant style notation, 14pp. $3
0256. Niksic 1978. 66 gms., some notes

0257. Buenos Aires 1979. FAN, some notes,
91 gms., 56pp. $4
0259. Erevan, USSR Zonal, 1982, 28pp. $4
Now, we come to the remaining tournament books. These will be regular books
and described individually and have much more substance than the little
books described previously!
0266. USSR Championship 37, 1969. 258 gms.,
few notes, 176pp. $5
0269. Wijk aan Zee GM Tmt., 1975

Tournament Bulletins
Most international tournaments issue bulletins as the tournament progresses.
We have a large number of these sets of bulletins available.
You will note a wide variance in the quality of these bulletins. Some look
like poor Xerox copies. The reason for this may be that they are produced as
Xerox copies or they may have been reproduced from the master copy at the
tournament in this fashion. It may also be that they are copies of the
original. Some of these bulletins may be copies of articles which acted as
bulletins, e.g., copies from the USSR magazine, "64".
Most of the bulletins we offer are indeed original issues as you will
notice! Some, however, are issued after the fact. The old tournaments here
do not have original bulletins from those years.
Tournament bulletins rarely have annotations but some do have diagrams.
We offer the bulletins below listed in chronological sequence to make it
easier for you to find what you are seeking. We have listed the top
finishers in each event. When we show "MacDonald + 3", this means that three
tied for 2nd place.
These bulletins are priced to sell with the cheapest items usually
containing the smallest amount of material.
