Fedora-wearing bank robber escapes on mountain bike
By Stacia Glenn

A man wearing a black fedora robbed a bank in Victorville this morning
and escaped on a mountain bike, officials said.
The robber walked into the DCB Bank on La Paz Drive about 10 a.m.,
handed the teller a note and left with an unknown amount of cash.
Sheriff's deputies later found a dark blue mountain bike leaning
against a nearby laundromat. A backpack stuffed with dark blue
sweatpants and a matching sweatshirt were found inside the laundromat
bathroom.

Investigators said they reviewed surveillance footage at the bank and
saw the robber waiting outside the bank for it to open at 10 a.m. He
then stood in line and waited until his turn to hand a teller the
note.

Officials declined to say what was was written on the note, but did
say a "threat was implied."

There were nine bank employees and six customers inside the bank
during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white man, 5-feet 7-inches tall and
weighs 200 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Al Huf at (760)
241-2911.

You're right, I'm thinking of adding murder to my list of crimes right now.
