I received a moving violation for which I will be arraigned on 5/9. The citing officer incorrectly diagrammed his stationary position vis-a-vis my vehicle in the 'Location of Violation' section of the ticket. I plan to use this error as part of my defense, in addition to contesting the violation (failure to stop at a stop sign) by disputing the officer's observation (a long shot, I realize).
Will the judge look negatively at such a tactic? Should the officer appear at the trial, will he be given an opportunity to amend the ticket by correctly indicating his stationary position at the intersection?
