Suction Dredge Status November 2011

I've been receiving telephone calls and email messages asking if the Department of Fish and Game expects to resume the issuance of suction dredge permits in November. While it is true that at one time we projected the adoption of final regulations in November or December of 2011 this is no longer the case. In short, the adoption of Assembly Bill 120 has substantial implications for the current moratorium. Rather than repeat what is already available on this issue I suggest you go to http://www.dfg.ca.gov/suctiondredge/ and review, in particular, the first two topics on that website. The website was updated on October 3, 2011 and remains current as of this time.
