At the conclusion of tonight’s meeting, Russ Swatek asked if the committee would be interested in taking more time and coming up with some specific recommendations for CA and the villages.

I think that a committee of volunteers would need at least a year to do a credible job of understanding the unique circumstances of each village.  I think a committee would have to meet with each village manager and probably each board.  With 10 villages, that would take a lot of time.  Then, a committee would need time to sift through the information and try to come up with recommendations.  Personally, I am not interested in such an undertaking.

I do have a suggestion.  Our report recommends that CA and the village staffs work together to find ways to cooperate in marketing and joint provision of services.  I could see an additional recommendation, namely that the CA Board encourage the execution of our recommendation by hosting a meeting to which village managers and village board members (or at least the village board presidents) are invited to start a dialogue on what they can do in a cooperative fashion.  The professional staffs would then be tasked with working out the details and implementing the agreed-upon actions.

I am willing to take a look at capital expense data, if we get such.  I would hope that would not take more than another meeting or two.

Beyond that, I am not interested in additional work.  I think this committee put in a lot of time and work on the reports we produced, and (speaking only for myself) I think we are finished.

Thank you to all for your participation and input to our products.

It seems like the Board is looking for us to tell them exactly what to do...
"Do this and this and you will be successful..."
I don't think anyone is able to provide such data no matter how much time is given.
Any recommendation given must be analyzed by the recipient to determine if it is viable and able to be implemented.
After implementation, studies are conducted to view progress, success or failure.
No recommendation or action is foolproof - there is trial and error...or success...

I agree with Roger's comments:

If we must review the capital expenditures, I am willing to also work on this.
I believe after such review, our tasks would be complete.

I think we all came to that conclusion several meetings ago and it is now becoming a reality.  I will avail myself for capex review but then will  need to draw the line there regarding additional time commitment.  Thanks and please keep me posted.

My additional time and commitment is very unlikely and to be determined contingent a specific request from the CA Board.
