At last night's meeting, we were informed that the Planning and Strategy Committee has called a special meeting next Thursday 12/16/10 to discuss our report on Charge A (and Clarification Letter) in further detail. I have attached the agenda for those that were not present to review.

Our scheduled meeting next week 12/15/10 is still being held with the hopes that a number of Village Managers are present to provide more insight on our Charge B.

Our tasks for this week are to review the posted recommendations of several committee members regarding Charge B, perhaps add a few more, refine as many as we can, and to provide a summary for Charge C.
After our meeting next week with the Village Managers, we may refine the condensed list more or add more recommendations based on that meeting.

Our goal is to prepare our report on Charge B and C via e-mail as much as possible to avoid an in-person meeting on 12/22/10.
This option will rely heavily on member participation to ensure an indepth report for final submission on 12/30/10.

We are also happy to relay that Bernard was "present" at our meeting last night via conference call and sounded as energetic as he has always been.

Thank you to everyone, and I hope we can pull this together.

I have attached a preliminary draft of our report for Charge B and C.
I pulled together many recommendations that were posted.
As we meet with the village managers next week, there may be many more added, refined, or removed.
Please feel free to add more recommendations as the days go by for further review by the committee.
This report is not our final draft merely a basis upon which to further edit.
Please note that as we are attempting to stay away from mentioning the grant allocation, it is mentioned briefly only as a reference point and not as a recommendation to revamp the system in its entirety.

Also, you will notice that the Equestrian Center page is blank.
If everyone could pass on a few notes regarding our analysis of the horse center that would be great.
Please keep in mind that the CA and Board will probably use what we state regarding the horse center as the basis to mirror such outsourced management to the golf courses and perhaps other services.
Roger's Horse Center spreadsheet will be Exhibit N and will be placed as the last page.
I have misplaced Roger's Horse Ctr spreadsheet.
If Roger or someone could pass that one to me again that would be great.
I need his version in Excel in order to add headers and page numbers.

Also, the Exhibits already attached will have page numbers later once we have formulated a final version of the body of the report.

Thanks...
-Nina

Thank you, Nina.  I have not looked at the draft yet, but will do so.

I will forward the spreadsheet on the horse center, but I will revise it like the way James revised it earlier, moving the allocations to a position below the net from operations.

I have begun work on another spreadsheet, which I hope will illustrate the different revenue sources among the villages.  This spreadsheet groups the village revenues by category (for example, lease and rents, tuition, etc.) then by village for each fiscal year.  I have a few years’ data to add by hand, which I hope to do tomorrow.  Then, I will send this spreadsheet out.  My hope is this will help us understand the revenue “streams” the villages rely on.  It may facilitate our discussion with the village managers.
