March 3 STEAM Day of Discovery in the OC

Hi team -

Exciting news!  We are *thisclose* to finalizing a Day of Discovery in Orange County.  We are partnering with PBS SoCal, Orange County Science Education Association, NASA/JPL, and other organizations to bring a STEAM-themed day to the area (STEAM is STEM with the arts infused).

The day isn't far away, so we're going to be moving fast.  The event is planned for Saturday, March 3, at Centennial High School in Santa Ana.  You haven't seen any invitations yet because we're still waiting for the district to sign-off on the use of facilities. Fingers crossed...

I know this is a super-busy time of year for many, so I apologize, but it was really the only open date for several months.  That being said, we'd love to have a DEN-presence there at that day, in the form of presenters, helpers, or advocates for the DEN.  FYI, because it is a STEAM-focused event, the sessions are going to be very focused and on-topic.  If you have an interest in presenting, definitely let me know, and we can chat!

This sounds like a really exciting day.  I'm interested in helping out.  To present, my focus would be in the Stock Market as in the film Discovery made last spring.  Since that topic is in the future, let me know further details about helping out on March 3.

Well, that's the second Spring event I'll miss.

SGVCUE has a Coffee Break on March 3 (Google Lit Trips) so I will not be able to participate in this Day of Discovery. Yes, I am truly bummed.

I know it will be wonderful, as always, with so many wonderful CA DEN presenters. Go Cali!

Sounds great!  Although the CCSS conference is that weekend, I would much rather be a part of this event.  If you think any of these topics relate to STEAM, I would be glad to present Digital Storytelling, Using Animoto or Free Discovery Resources (only one presentation, please).
