Hi everyone!
Sorry I missed you all at CUE this past weekend! I heard everything was amazing! Hope you are all well doing well.
I wanted to touch base about a very exciting event that PBS SoCal is planning this May called the Teacher Town Hall.
We will be taping a
Teacher Town Hall for broadcast on May 8th at the Grammy Museum. The Town Hall will be an "all-educator" conversation about
factors surrounding and solutions to the dropout crisis. I thought that
this might be something you or a classroom teacher you know would want to be a part of.
We are currently looking for great teachers to be engaging members of
the audience. I included some more details
below and the registration link. All registrants must be classroom teachers. If you are not in the
classroom, I would ask that you share this with an educator or two in
your district. We only have a small number of spots at this event and the audience will need to geographically represent all of
Southern California so choose a couple fantastic candidates! Please also be sure to share with a diverse section of teachers that would be comfortable speaking on television and being part of a studio audience.
Let me know if you have any questions. I am extremely excited about the Town Hall and would LOVE if some of you could attend. It should prove to be a unique opportunity to amplify teacher voices.
Thanks!

Teacher Town Hall Details
There has been a lot of talk and media attention about how to address
the high school dropout crisis in America. We believe it is time to give
teachers a voice. PBS SoCal, KLCS, and KVCR are hosting a televised
Teacher Town Hall, sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
We want to capture your perspective and amplify your voice as a teacher.
This will be an opportunity to engage in a conversation around the
factors that affect high school graduation rates. We hope you will join
us for this very special evening.
