Heyas!

I was working on getting a nice sprite pointer done for the configuration program and Paul took over my tests and beat me to the punch on getting nice 16 colour sprites on the screen.

However, the demo he made was a bit naughty in that we don't own the resource.

Paul was talking to me about doing a nice intro demo for the M65...  He wanted an out-back picture with a kangaroo hoping across it.

I decided I was going to do it!

So I got a nice kangaroo model with animations (I had to purchase it :( ), recorded it, edited it, assembled it and encoded it (I had to make my own tools because Paul hasn't uploaded his) and now I have the start of something.

We can't yet do the background because I have found issues using 256 colour tiles but we're working on it.

In the mean time, please enjoy this little program - another example of 16 colour sprites.

Its been built off the structure of Paul's demo but for this one, I'm having to use 3 sprites horizontally instead of 2.

I've also attached the little demo reel I made to ensure I was on the right track for those who can't run the program.

Hello,

The tool I used for preparing the sprites is part of pngprepare. Just use the sprite16 option.

Looking forward to taking a look.

Paul.

Whoops!  I thought I should post a correction:  Paul _did_ upload the change to pngprepare.  I was looking in the wrong branch.

Oh well, I have a GUI tool for it now, too.  I'll add it to my Meg65 Tools repository soon, in case people want it.

Nicely done, I gave it a try just now :) There were some strange horizontal line streaks behind the kangaroo, not sure if that's due to some quirk in the bitstream I'm on compared to yours.

I would've taken a picture, but feeling sleepy, will try do that tomorrow.
