We have finally moved from Xilinx ISE to Xilinx Vivado

The main change will be the need to install Vivado instead of ISE.
Building is still via Makefile.

A huge thanks to Kenneth for his work in making this possible, and fixing a number of significant problems along the way.

Just wondering if it's recommended to stick to a specific version of Vivado? As I see there are several available online:


For now, I'll assume that it's ok to download and install the latest (2018.2.2). If it bites me in the bum, I'll downgrade to whatever everyone else is using :)

Just to confirm, using version 2018.2 worked fine to synthesise the bitstream (I didn't bother adding update 2018.2.1 and update 2018.2.2 to the vivado install).
