Heyas!
Just a quick post to let you all know that I'm still on the planet. I had some work I was busy with for a few months but I'm back on C= development now, so I'm happy.
I'm working on a version of Monopoly for the C64 because I always wanted to write my own version of it. It is nearly complete, mostly just a few nice-to-have things left now. It even has a CPU player (called "Victor") which I wasn't planning on adding for quite some time but has matured quite rapidly (it was less difficult that I originally thought). Please check it out and let me know what you think. IMHO, my version is the most accurate conversion of the board game there is (even compared to the most recent official releases I've seen). You can find the game at:
https://github.com/M3wP/Monopoly/tree/master/C64
Once complete, I will endeavour to port it to the M65, making use of its 80x50 display and dual SIDs. The program is quite large now, some 45000 lines (?) and using ~61KB of memory but you're welcome to critique or modify the source.
There is no user manual yet but it should be straight forward. I apologise for the load times on a real machine... I have to sort that out yet.
Porting to the M65 will be a bit tricky but should be mostly painless, I hope. The biggest issues will be storing all the extra data for the display (I might need custom characters) and accessing the whole colour memory. I also want to make a networked version client for the M65 after that (and after I've written the PC-side server).
If you're wanting to run it on the M65, please be aware that there might be an issue with getting it to run unless you press the CPU Reset button first after booting. I'm not sure if this is still required but it used to be. I've fixed a few things since I last tried it.
Let me know what you think of the game or if there is anything I can help with. I have a bit of catching up to do but I should be up and running fairly quickly.
Daniel.
