Organizers of Ground for Hope-Wisconsin have announced that Winona LaDuke, the internationally recognized Native American speaker and activist, will be the keynote speaker for the Oct. 21-22 event in Milwaukee.  A Harvard graduate and Ms. Magazine Woman of the Year, LaDuke has founded and led Native American organizations that work for environmental protection and women’s well-being.

Ground for Hope – Wisconsin is designed for clergy, seminarians, and lay leaders from diverse religious traditions statewide and beyond.  Compelling local and national speakers will empower participants to enrich their preaching, teaching, worship and advocacy on behalf of the Earth.

 

The Greater Milwaukee Synod is a co-sponsor of Ground for Hope – Wisconsin, which is organized by GreenFaith, the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee and its Interfaith Earth Network.  It is part of Green Faith’s national series of Ground for Hope events.
