Winona LaDuke, the internationally recognized Native American speaker and activist, will be the keynote speaker for Ground for Hope –
Wisconsin, Oct. 21-22 in Milwaukee.
 
A Harvard graduate and Ms. Magazine Woman of the Year, LaDuke has founded and led Native American organizations that work for environmental protection and women’s well-being.
 
 
 
Ground for Hope – Wisconsin is designed for clergy, seminarians, and lay leaders from diverse religious traditions statewide and beyond. Compelling local and national speakers will empower participants to enrich their preaching, teaching, worship and advocacy on behalf of the Earth. 
 
The program includes an Iftar dinner (Iftar is the meal for breaking the fast for Muslims) and a variety of local eco-tours, as well as workshops, plenary speakers, displays, and worship.
 
 
Wisconsin Council of Churches is a co-sponsor of Ground for Hope – Wisconsin, which is organized by GreenFaith, the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee and its Interfaith Earth Network. It is part of GreenFaith’s national series of Ground for Hope events.
