The endless darkness and the somber, long passages of a military complex have become the abode of evil, as thousands of blood-thirsty creatures fill its offices, storehouses and mysterious laboratories.
Your mission is simple: clear the base at all costs. You will be provided with explosives to help you gain access to the teleports from where thousands of pitiless creatures pour. A stationary gun will aid in the defense of the area. You have been granted access to the most advanced weapons technology money can buy. As you earn your pay, you can equip yourself with additional weapons in the arming area and biomechanical implants that will make your fighting abilities super human.
The alien invasion has begun, we have one chance, and that is to stop them cold in their staging area. Do not allow them escape this facility, you are our last hope. The fate of humanity now depends on you!
Alien Shooter is an isometric, top-down shooter video game developed and released by Sigma Team, a Russian games development studio. Released on May 18, 2003, it was initially available on Microsoft Windows, iOS, and Android. The game's conclusion was realized in two expansion packs, both consisting of five-levels and released in 2014: Fight for Life, released on June 14, and The Experiment, released on September 22.
Alien Shooter is presented in a top-down, third-person view (3/4 perspective), and takes place across nine levels of increasing difficulty. The main objective of each level is to eliminate all the aliens. To do so, players must access all of the areas that the level has to offer (by completing tasks such as reactivating power generators, destroying walls, and disabling force fields, etc.) and removing the alien threats within. Later levels feature teleportation devices, which spawn enemies indefinitely, and can only be destroyed by special explosives scattered throughout the level.
Once exterminated, alien enemies drop loot consisting of money, health, ammo, and other items. Between levels, players can purchase upgraded, more powerful weapons in the shop, along with permanent stat upgrades. Temporary upgrades can also be purchased, including "Lives", Body Armor, Attack Drone, etc. Most items in the shop can also be found scattered throughout the levels.[3]
In the early year 2030, scientist from M.A.G.M.A Energy Corporation created the bio engineering creatures by mixing both DNA animals and alien cells from a meteorite they've been found. Those creatures have been successfully created such as mutant frogs/spawn frogs, multi-armed bipeds/raptors, giant spiders, and tank rhinos. However, something bad happens, the aliens plan to escape from their cage while using a teleporter device as their plans. Protagonist's task to eliminated the aliens inside of abandoned experiment lab places. As the protagonist explores the lab, the root of the problem is revealed to be a malfunction with an experimental teleportation device. Somehow, the aliens have managed to flood through en masse, killing the scientists and guards who were working in the lab. Delving deeper into the complex, the protagonist encounters ever more powerful aliens and realizes that all the teleporters must be destroyed. The game reaches its conclusion when the protagonist has eliminated all of the aliens and destroyed all the teleporters in the laboratory.

This is the export for "Alien Shooter 2 Reloaded demo Steam release" (one must be very specific, since there are tons of different versions of this game available!). It works more or less with the same features and tricks as the former episode (still obfuscated, no rendering resize, need for WM_NCHITTEST mouse processing) plus the need to hook D3D9.
No traces here of the FreeLibrary errors and crashes, I hope that the new setting will fix things for you as well, but in case just tell me.
Now I think I'm going (to relax and ...) to mind the resizing problem: it is very curious that a D3D game would show such a behaviour. It sounds quite interesting. In the meanwhile, please mind that aliens won't bother us earthly creatures!
GHO
The game starts with the city burning in the background. I remember the aliens being too "alien", so to speak. Screen color of the city may be like a orange-y(?), I remember my older cousin explaining to me that it was an alien invasion, thats why it looked like that. I remember there were drops that changed the my gun.
The Light Phantom is one of the 4 ships that can be bought with gold and costs 35,000 gold. Instead of shooting projectiles, it has a constant laser beam that deals more damage and gets wider the more power it gets. It also shoots out 3 spiked projectiles on both sides on power 3. On evolution, the phantom can the shoot electric lasers that electrocute enemies and aliens (And also bosses) if they are close enought to the laser. The electric laser's color is the same and NEVER changes even with a diffrent skin.
Russian developer Sigma Team's series of isometric shooters with vast numbers of foes onscreen at the same time. The main series consists of Alien Shooter, Theseus: Return of the Hero and Alien Shooter: Vengeance. Fight For Life and The Experiment are add-ons for the first installment of the series. Zombie Shooter utilizes the same gameplay mechanics as the main series but the player shoots at zombies instead of aliens.
My game crashes with this mod, trying to run it 1920x1080. It crashes after a few second on the first stage when I'm getting close to the hole in the fence. I am running the GOG version (setup_alien_shooter_1.2_(18275).exe). Any tips?
The universe is under attack. Handfuls, no - armies of alien invaders are converging on your position. It's time to engage them in true battle games style. The stellar particle effects, coupled with nerve-racking sound effects, weave an atmosphere so tense it would make the bravest warriors tremble.
What should be worked on:
-First, and foremost, monster models. Obviously, current monsters are just temporary substitute for HD models, but they really ruin the immersion as soon as they come closer. I would also recommend adding one more monster model to the map, which is that big two-legged monster (unarmed version). They also were present in some of the demo versions.
-The lightning is strange a bit: Some areas are dark, some are light. If you remember old alien shooter 1, it never had complicated lightning. There only was two options: Light ON, and light OFF, which blocked all the doors and made everything harder to see. Complicated lightning like the one in the demo map was brought at Alien Shooter 2.
-Speaking of lightning, I'm not sure why would you leave red emergency lights on. At first I thought that doing everything 50-70% darker was a bad idea because players wouldn't be able to see the monsters, but then I realized that monsters always have glowing red eyes, even when it's full darkness around.
-Some places can be abused: While completing the map alone, I found myself jumping on the tables and shooting the monster without any problems most of the time. I also managed to jump over the monsters and escape inevitable death. Maybe there's some script which could prevent players from jumping on your map?
-Gameplay gets repetitive: And it's not one-monster-type to blame, but rather spawn system. It always comes down to me standing in front of monster spawn and spawn killing them all, one by one. Perhaps, spawns should be placed in more tricky spaces?
-No secret areas? :( What about those cracked walls that can be broken? (or maybe I just didn't find any?). I'd also place ammo inside some of the boxes.
-Horde mode has really strange map. Why didn't you copy original Alien Shooter survival map instead?
-Textures need to be refreshed: Most importantly orange monsters. Why do they have pink skin degree? I'd also recommend updating textures for the walls and floor, taking them from actual Alien Shooter.
-Explosions range should be tweaked: Usual barrels are useless to blow since they don't do any damage to monsters whatsoever, while dynamite is a bit too powerful (I do remember how strong the bomb was in original Alien shooter, but it's really hard to plant the bomb & escape the explosion in your map)
