PS. I decided to switch to a logitech pro 9000 webcam that also does 720p
video, and guess what!? The driver fails to load on windows 7 64bit as well,
even though it says it is compatible. Also, I am a very experienced user, so I have troubleshooted these things
down to the last detail. Microsoft just needs to do a little more testing
before they release these things.

I have been using the latest gspca drivers gspca 2.12.7 for my microsoft lifecam vx 1000 on fedora 13 and the application i use is qutecom. The device gets detected but after a while an error pops up the terminal as below.
