fine grained control of point size & color

1) Is there a way to change the point size for only a single dataset (one series), or a subset of points within a single dataset?

3) is there a way to change colors of individual points? 

2) Is there a way to change the shape of points, either individually or for an entire series (e.g. asterisks, diamonds)?

I could really use this too. I want to use shape/color/size to represent various properties of a datapoint within a scatterplot.
