I'm trying to slim down the After Effects install for my render farm. The After Effects install is 2.5 GB and 721 MB of that is the Cinema 4D plugin. I tried deleting the plugin but After Effects refuses to start if the plugin doesn't exist even though it's not in the "Required" directory.

Since the .aex are still present, AE should launch and work correctly. That is, until you actually try to apply the Cinemaware plugin, then things will get nasty and you are caught in an endless dialog loop as obviously some core files are now missing .

Either build the code into the main title "After Effects", or tell us we need a plugin. A plugin is inherently an "add-on". Cut this two titles for one business!! This is a play for $$$ on behalf of Maxon and that's it. Wasn't missing this "plugin" before it auto-installed this chumware all over my rig, taking up 75% of my MBP hard disk. Worst of all it re-installs every AE update, and unfolders it's own icons from Launchpad. Sucks! Now I hate Maxon, and soon to hate AE too. Uninstalled both.

These installation notes are specific to the latest version KeyShot, Cinema 4D (C4D) and the KeyShot for Cinema 4D plugin, unless otherwise mentioned. For questions about other versions, please contact [email protected].

Deformable animations are not supported by the SDK for C4D and can therefore not be transferred to KeyShot directly using the plugin. To transfer deformable animations from C4D to KeyShot export an Alembic (.abc) file from C4D.

I just upgraded to the monthly Cinema 4D subscription for R23. I went to the Otoy site and downloaded the Cinema 4D plugin version 2020.1.5-R4. Copied the c4doctane folder to the Cinema 4D plugins folder and removed all the versions except the one for R23. When I load up Cinema 4D I see the Octane plugin in the menu but as soon as I try to open the Octane Live Viewer, Dialog or Settings it crashes.

I had a couple older versions of Cinema 4D with the Octane plugin as well installed. I thought this was the issue so I uninstalled all other versions of Cinema 4D. I even went into my AppData folder and removed all folders that were related to Maxon and OctaneRender. I uninstalled Cinema 4D and reinstalled it and put the plugins back in the folder and it still crashes. I am not being prompted to enter my Otoy credentials though.

I tried installing the latest version of the Octane Standalone. After installing it, I go to open it and nothing happens. I just doesn't open, I don't get prompted to enter my login credentials. I went back and installed the standalone version 4.05 and I am asked to login and it does open but I need the newer version and the more importantly the Cinema 4D plugin to work.

Despite having the same settings, 'Cinema Intros' seems not to do much of anything at all, while 'Trailers' causes the infinite trailer loop along with repeated crashing of the entire app, sometimes even requiring a full reboot of the computer running Emby Server. I'm assuming the 'Trailer channel plugin' the 'Cinema Intros' settings is asking me to install is the one that causes trouble, but it also seems like the 2 plugins are supposed to be installed together.

Or do you allow me to modify this plugin to import the new node materials in Cinema 4D? ( I have almost done it in Arnold and Redshift, but I wonder if I can publish it for free , or if you want to , you can merge my code in the offical plugins )

in which way would you like to work it further? rhino.io will not help you here i believe. its basically just an interchange plugin for moving objects from rhino scenery into cinema scenery. i assume all it does is to send the mesh and maybe textures and maybe cameras and lights there and back in a convenient way. something which you can do with with exporting as collada.

since this is very most likely a mesh surface you might just stay in cinema and finish whatever you need there cinema has some paint deformers. the rhino wip version has great ways of converting meshes into sub d and nurbs which would allow you to deform it further, but then again it all depends what you want to do.

In Cinema 4D R23 there is a known bug which causes the commandline executable to not load plugins from the default location. In order to fix this please either upgrade to Deadline 10.1.14 or follow the fix in =115 on your render machines.

With this plugin, all relevant maps will be taken automatically based on some customizable keywords, from a given directory. Then the material will be created in a well organized node system, with Triplanar and a switcher to turn it on or off within the Shadergraph.

ok, i found how to make the code waiting till cinema 4d shuts down to rename the plugins folder as it was, and the input() will wait till the user hits Enter to continue, on mac i dont know which is the key, hope this will work on mac.

Deadline has an integrated submission plugin built inside of Cinema 4D that allows users to submit their scenes directly to Deadline. This allows Deadline to pull information about the scene like frame ranges, render output filenames, and Take lists.
