This may be a silly question, but I'll ask anyway. I have a 50' shore power 30 amp cable, one of those nice yellow ones. Except that mine isn't yellow anymore. Virtually the entire cable has turned black. Just wondering if there is a secret method to clean the cable back to it's nice yellow and keep it that way?? Or at the very least, to clean it of that black coating on it?
Thanks,Steve Weinstein, 2000 C320 "Vega" #722

Steve, Joe of #772 here. I use Soft Scrub with a galley scrub sponge. Once rinsed and dry, apply MacGuire's wax. It seals and slows the surface corrosion.

I have had success with Starbrite vynal cleaner. It works well in the
cockpit cushions and the cord. Also recommend the Shurhold rope brush. It
can wrap around the cord, or ropes and allows you to scrub them. Don’t
expir to become yellow again but may remove much of the black weathering.

I would try Dawn first. It seems to work on everything snd its a lot
cheaper.
