Hi
The gasket that goes between the lids of the fridge/ice box and the frame needs to be replaced. It is black hole rubber.

Has anybody found a replacement. I have looked at applicance parts store, Catalina Direct.

Any suggestions welcome

Ken,

I just did this project and I used the following part. I ordered a 20 foot roll.

Rich,

The rubber strip I bought from McMaster came with a peel-off strip and adhesive on it. I thoroughly cleaned the surface of the freezer lip with acetone to make sure it would adhere well. So far, so good.

Did you cut the corners?

I used a very sharp pair of heavy duty scissors to cut approximately 45-degree corners on the outer pieces. On the strips that go across the middle, I cut them at a 45 degree angle crosswise so they would sort-of follow the curve of the strips that were going by on the perimeter.

I think a very sharp utility knife on a piece of scrap lumber would also active the same effect.
