[C320-list] Port light screens

Has anyone replaced the screen material within the portlight screens? Many
of our screens have holes in them and I would like to replace the screen
material without spending $60 a pop from Catalina Direct for a new unit.
Defender sells what appears to be the same product for $45, which while not
a bargain is still cheaper. Still, if I can simply replace the screen
material I would prefer to do that.

Also, Catalina Direct says the ports can be closed with the screens in
place, but Defender says they can not. Lewmar's website is of no help.
Does anyone know which is true?

The Lewmar screens do allow you to open and close while in place. Mine have
been in place since I bought it new in 2006. I have not had experience with
any other type of screen.

Brian thanks, There is a new style Lewmar screen that is black (rather
than grey) and installs from the inside. They don't make the old style
anymore. My confusion concerns the new style.

This should work (albeit pricey).  Installed from the inside but can stay in place with the ports shut.

I've tried a few solutions to the leaking port lights, to no avail. The lenses are also a bit crazed. Cutting to the chase, I'm considering buying new port lights (4). I know that I will be buying the "New" version. Question is the interior trim color. The existing appear to be ivory, but, Catalina Direct calls out white trim. Somewhat less expensive at west Marine. Mine could be faded, or, the definition of "white" could also be vague. Does anyone know what it's supposed to be?

Hi Bill,

We replaced our 4 port lights with Lewmar ports PN 393120200 ordered from
Mauripro April 2025. The total price was $928 including shipping. They
came with white interior trim which is not a perfect match to the interior
but in my opinion they look pretty good. And the new ports are so much
better than the original with the horizontal seams in the frame. For 3
years I tried in vain to stop all of the leak sources, had I known I would
have done this job sooner.

Be aware that there are 2 different styles of portlight, 3 if you could the MKII ones.  Older ones were more rectangular with the horizontal seams.  The more rounded ones starting somewhere around year 2000-ish. And the stainless ones on the MKII hulls.Jeff HareSent from my Galaxy
