I need to replace the short exhaust hose on the water heater.
Does anyone know
1) the diameter of the hose?
2) is it a special type hose for heat?3) where to purchase?
Thanks,

Check this photo. I replaced the small hose with this hardware. Is this the hose replacement you are referring to?

Danny,
Yes, I was hoping to replace the small hose that you show on page 2, third pic on row one of your gallery shots of the water heater.

Jerry,
The small hose developed a leak when I was replacing the water heater. It
appeared to be a wet exhaust hose and this really we not good application
because it comes into contact with the potable water system. I opted to
replace it with the hardware as shown. I think my solution is more durable
and perhaps safer.

Danny,
Do you recall the size (diameter) of the small hose?I may opt for your new set up at a later date but for now I just wanted to replace the short hose and not have to modify any fittings.I was hoping to have a new hose in hand before I remove the old one.I imagine that you can get a new hose from any marine type , possibly auto part store and cut to desired length.

Jerry,
My boat (2000 #734) has Shields Versaflex Water Exhaust 5/8 210-0580. I believe the 5/8 is inside diameter. Based on a previous post “Water Heater Hoses” http://lists.catalina320.com/pipermail/c320-list-catalina320.com/2013-July/041794.html <http://lists.catalina320.com/pipermail/c320-list-catalina320.com/2013-July/041794.html> it seems they don’t use that part number but it’s available at places such as West Marine.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply Mike, not sure if it's the same hose as Bruce mentioned a 10" wire reinforced hose and the one I'm talking about is maybe 2 inches long and appears to be smaller than 5/8. I guess I will just hve to remove it and go to West Marine or some other marine store and see what's available. When I find out I'll have to post it here in case it can help others in the future. ThanksJerry

It’s the same hose on my boat. It’s about a 4” piece of it.

Ok thanks Mike,  I'll look closer next time I'm on the boat.
