We are seeking a decent Catalina 320 to purchase and not having a whole lot
of luck. We are in Northwest Ohio, but would ship a boat to our location if
need be. I thought I should put out an APB to you all in case you have
considered selling, but were hesitant because of the market or if you might
know of someone who might be considering selling. If the boat is in the
Great Lakes, we would sail it home. We would prefer a model range from 1998
and newer. We would spend up to $65,000 for a boat that doesn't have too
many permanent owner modifications. I have a list of sold prices for
various year models over the past year and a half from Yachtworld that I
would share with any potential sellers. Thank you all for considering this
and thanks in advance for any referrals of anyone who may be considering
the sale of their Catalina 320. Happy sails!

There is a newer MkII for sale in the Rochester, NY area but it is listed
far above your $65k strike price (123K). If you want the particulars, let
me know.

John,

Tim Westhoven is the gentleman that is looking for a boat, not me.

My C320 is also for sale. Pretty well loaded with 435 hours on the
Yanmar. Can be seen on the Catalina web site: _www.catalinaowners.com_
(http://www.catalinaowners.com) or the C25 web site, under "Swap Meet"
_http://www.catalina-capri-25s.org/forum/_ (http://www.catalina-capri-25s.org/forum/)
It is located on Lake Tenkiller, OK, which is in far east OK, just north of
I 40.

I'm curious. What kind of "permanent owner modifications" would put you off?
We've done a number of things to enhance our cruising experience, i.e. 22
gal holding tank, new hoses, new head; 120A alternator & regulator; starting
battery; battery monitor; TV. I know others have done custom cabinetry, and
other "appearance" things. What is your intended use: race, cruise,
weekends only? I'm interested in what constraints may exist in the mind of
the buyer.

I added AC for dockside power only. While it cost something like $8000 it
has increased the amount of time on the boat dramatically. Nobody without
air is hanging out at a bay marina this summer.

I have radar and found it of pretty little value for my use on Chesapeake.
Certainly never need it on a clear night, and I would not trust it in a
foggy one. I hardly believe in half the blips as it is. And, the bay gets
hazy but rarely fogged in the way Long Island Sound and further North does.
Would probably value it a lot in ME.

Other then that and a large flatscreen AC/DC TV DVD player (which is nice
add) mine is pretty generic 320
