Two issues we are dealing with, would appreciate your comments/suggestions:

PORTLIGHT

We have had an ongoing leak in one of the portlights on the starboard side
of our 320.

Yesterday I removed the 8 screws that hold the portlight in place but the
unit will not come out.

I've applied a lot of pressure but it does not budge and am reluctant to
hammer or apply too much force.

I believe the portlight has never been removed because we bought the boat
one year old therefore should be factory installation.

Has anyone experienced this and, if so, how did you finally get the
portlight removed?

IT's possible the leak may be between the glass and the rubber. If so, can
the rubber gasket be replaced?

LIGHTING FIXTURES

We have been having problems with several of the eight light fixtures in
the salon.

Yesterday we realized the sockets that the two-pronged bulbs plug into have
deteriorated.

Catalina Direct lists the following fixture as a replacement:

-lights/cabin-light-white-plastic-swivel-eyeball-led/?SearchResults=1> Cabin
Light White Plastic Swivel Eyeball LED (catalinadirect.com)

Has anyone replaced using these fixtures or are there other (better?)
options available?

Thanks for any guidance you can offer.

Bruce  I have had mine out a couple of times with no problem.  Hull 249.  First try putting tape over the seam between the two halves of the outside frame and see if that stops the leak.  On mine that rubber gasket in the seam had deteriorated on just about all of them

Bruce,

Chances are that it's the gap between the upper and power frames that is leaking. No need to remove them to fix it. Below is a blog article procedure that I have used to successfully fix my opening ports. The article is for the fixed ports but the repair is the same, as the frame is built the same way. I had 4 leaking ports when I bought my boat and I have fixed them all with this procedure.

Good morning.  The top section (the plastic part with 2 vertical fingers, each with a hole for the lifting ring) broke when I was attempting to remove the transducer.Does anyone on the list have working replacement, new or used, for sale?I hope I posted this message correctly. It was not obvious to me how to do that from the catalina320.org website.Mike Mellon La Vida Hull 324, 1996Sent from my Galaxy
