I have ordered a new whisker/spinnaker pole. When setting up to install the
mast pole mount, I was surprised to see that the forward lower shrouds are
right where the pole would be in use. Does a genoa whisker pole work when
extended forward of the front shroud? Alternatively, can it be made to work
extended between the forward and middle shrouds?
Thanks,
Roger

Roger,

We use a pole very effectively, particularly when we want to be near dead
downwind. We move the jib cars all the way aft and then bring the pole back
to about 1 to 2 " off the forward shroud.

Greetings-
We occasionally fly a symmetric spinnaker, and for the sheets use 50 mm Harken blocks soft-shackled to the stern cleats. We use the genoa winch to secure the guy and trim the sheet by hand. This works, but I'm concerned the blocks might chip the gelcoat or be lost overboard as we rig and de-rig each time. Garhauer has a stanchion-mounted block with cam cleat, but this seems like a big load to put on the stanchion. Has anyone come up with a better solution?
Thank you,
