When we first got our 320, we had problems on cruises with piling everything into the fridge. (How come the beer is always on the bottom?)
So we put in several plastic and wire trays to help segregate various types of food. As it happens, we have a plastic tray where the drain is to hold drinks.
The melted water ends up in the tray, which we empty when we defrost. All done, except for maybe a little runoff.
My boat is a 1998. Catalina may have still been figuring out the system. I have the Y valve for the pump, but any runoff still seems to end up in the bilge. That's not a big deal because I have a regular stuffing box, which means there often is a little water in the bilge.
