[C320-list] Head options

Hi All!

Resending this as I’m wondering if my first post might have triggered a spam filter.

We are looking to replace or do away with our 30 year old holding tank. Phew.

The guys at a local marina are all recommending going with a porta potty or a composting toilet. Does anyone have experience with either?

If so, which models have you used that fit into our space?

2 years ago I replaced the holding tank in my Catalina. Using a 22 gallon holding tank instead of the 12 gallon that came from the factory. I replaced all the hoses as well. It was not a difficult job

I just replaced our holding tank (upgraded to 15 gals), the head, and all
hoses. You could get a self-treating head that does not require a tank, but
those are about $2,500.

The job itself is not fun, but it makes a difference as it pertains to the
smell inside the boat.

I have used a composting head in a different boat. It was not for me,
because the composting head did not separate #1 from #2. Thus, if you only
needed #1, the boat owner had us use the head sink. That was a non-starter
on my boat. Other composting toilets may have solved that problem.

I am happy to provide any drawings or parts if you replace the tank and
hoses.
