I discovered a tear on the foot of my main while bending the sails on this year. Its not major, but I want to get it fixed without interrupting my sailing schedule. I know! Most lofts are up to their eyeballs in the spring.

Anyone have any good recommendations on lofts that have done this type of work, "quickly" ?

The bigger lofts don't really care about the smaller repairs unless there are like 12 racing sails being purchased.

I found the following on Google ...

Tara Quinn
North Sail Repair
Sail Menders (a bit far....for me anyway)

Others or personal experience? I am looking to drop at the beginning of the week and pick up later in the week.

Thanks in Advance!!!!

I took my jib to Quantum last Monday and they had it ready on Thursday.
They re-stitched the UV cover and fixed a couple of minor issues. Cost
was $200. Very reasonable. I recommend them.

Brad

I use UK -Halsey in Annapolis. They made my jib and couple of years ago and are now making me a new main. I have sent them business over the years from the Pentagon Sailing Club.

They have been responsive for me. Call and ask for David Gross that is whom I work with, tell him I recommended him. Not sure it will speed things up but it might not hurt.

I highly recommend them.

Brad, if the tear is not in a high load location and you want to postpone
it, perhaps until the fall, you may be able to repair it with sail tape.
You can get it at WM. It's cloth with adhesive. You can wrap it around the
bolt rope and up over the tear. You can overstitch it by hand if you think
it needs the added strength.

I have had good service from Scott Allan at UK Sails Annapolis. They
are a smaller loft backed by a larger company, and one of the few places
in the Annapolis region that still makes sails locally. They have a full
service shop. You can drop off sails after hours in the van they keep
parked outside.
