Looking for some advice on how to replace a heat exchanger filler neck on a Perkins M 30 engine. I have a 1995, 320 that I discovered recently has some broken off peices of the filler neck that holds the radiator cap on. The cap does stay on but I'm getting a little radiator fluid leakage once the engine is warm. Not sure the beat way to remove the existing filler neck to replace it. Has anyone delt with this?SteveSent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device

Removing 3 hoses and 6 bolts will put the hx in hand and off to the
radiator shop.

Steve -I faced this exact issue back in 2018 but elected to replace the entire heat exchanger tank then (plus all hoses). The tank then was something like $250. However, you can no longer get a new Perkins tank. Others have recently located/used Volvo or a generator (forget the name) tank successfully but at much higher price. I will locate and forward recent C320 association emails to you describing those details.
I did talk to a radiator shop that indicated they could install a new neck in the tank. I suggest take many photos and measurements and talk to local shops.

I have not encountered a leak around my M30 heat exchanger filler neck.
But if the radiator cap still connects & leaks a little radiator fluid when hot.
I would try building the broken filler neck areas with Marine Tex or JB Weld.
After carefully cleaning the areas before applying.
Marine-Tex cures rock hard, easy to sand & paint.
I used it to build up a big section of missing cast iron swing keel on a Catalina 22.
Easy to form, sand, paint, remained in place for years.

Main Parts4Engines link for heat exchanger tank filler neck repair kits https://parts4engines.com/en-us/collections/volvo-penta
Don't know if this specific one would be for Perkins M30 (the link says it is for later versions so may not apply) https://parts4engines.com/products/perkins-4-108-bowman-heat-exchanger-filler-neck-assembly
Maybe this one for Volvo MD2030? https://parts4engines.com/products/volvo-penta-md2030-heat-exchanger-repair-kit
Parts4Engines might be able to help/say for sure if emailed info about specific engines you have.
