[C320-list] Noise from the engine cover

On my 1999 boat I’ve started getting a loud rattling noise from the front engine cover. It stops immediately if I push in on the galley side of the cover so I think it must be coming from the cover rubbing on the backing surfaces. Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?

Add adhesive backed weather stripping (1/4 inch thick?) to the edge. Actually this is a reminder for me to replace mine since part had dislodged.

I found that the ladder sometimes contacts the front engine cover, causing a terrible racket. My solution was to put a couple of quarters inside the rubber boots on the foot, rising it just enough to clear the engine cover.

Same here. I put a couple of washers on the hinge pins to space the cover
away from the teak panel on the port side.
