[C320-list] Transmission dip stick

My dip stick broke off, I have the metal tube and the orange grip but only the center. The remaining orange is still threaded into the transmission. I tried an ez out but it did not budge. Has anyone had this happen and how did you resolve? TIA

Happens a lot. Over tightening is the culprit.

General approach is to use a large flat blade screw driver or large torx 50
jammed or heat inserted into the plastic. This guy used a key.

I broke mine yesterday...grrr. I found it very easy to remove the
threaded part by sticking a pocket knife blade into the hole just enough so
the two edges cut into the thread a small amount (but enough to hold so
that the blade rotates the threaded part so that it backs out.

I went out to the Cariblue website today to try and order the all-aluminum
dipstick that several on this site have recommended. The message on the
website said that the store is closed from May 8th to June 20th then orders
will be processed in the order received. There is no way that I can see to
place an order through the website.
