[C320-list] Replacing sanitary hoses

Hello Everyone,

I bought my 31 year old 320 almost exactly one year ago. First winter was expensive - replaced standing rigging, running rigging and electronics!

I didn’t see an article on the site, but I read a couple of your comments in recents emails.
There is a stink on my boat, the hose project needs to happen.

Trying to measure hose is problematic, but I think I got good length. Like someone else said, even though it’s expensive, I’d rather have 4 feet too much than 4” too little.

Did you replace the toilet? Rebuild the toilet? (rebuild kits are about $100).

I assume the first step is to remove the toilet. Then just fish hose through holes? There is no good access there.

Any advice?

I did not have to remove the toilet.  I installed a new joker valve (very quick/easy) and removed the top of the pump and lubricated the tube and o-ring. I replaced the sanitary hoses from toilet to holding tank & holding tank to macerator but not to the vent.
After reading Dave Hupes, I nervously proceeded to change the hoses on my own, worrying about passing hoses thru...
No problem. No need to remove the toilet.
The new hoses eliminated the odor! Well worth the effort!
At a later date, the pump assembly cracked, leaking, I replaced the toilet with new pump assembly, easy.
And I have replaced the macerator pump.
Both toilet & pump same as orginal.

Hey Everyone,

They are not really my photos to share, Dave sent them to me.

The big reveal for me was that if you remove the little cabinet above the toilet, and the skinny section between the cabinet and the ceiling, everything is accessible.

Dave did say that the section above is harder to access, because you have to remove the light first.

I looked at mine and that panel seems to be in two sections joined behind the light, so I’m hoping I can wiggle them out without removing the light?

Regardless, I’m a lot more confident ripping into it.
