Job Description:
Background:
The Department is committed to providing high quality education services to all Florida students and requires ITStaff Augmentation services to assist the Department and Technology staff in meeting that goal.
Minimum Qualifications of Candidate:
The Department is seeking a Project Manager professional with the following minimum qualifications (these qualifications must be clearly stated on the resume and verifiable via reference checks):
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- 4+ years of experience managing IT projects.
- Experience working with Agile methodology.
- Experience with projects in a program environment (i.e., multiple interrelated and coordinated projects) led by a Program Manager.
- Experience with large-scale implementation projects with the following characteristics:
- large and high-profile,
- multiple technologies and functions, and
- collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups with diverse and competing needs and expectations.
- 7+ years of IT work experience including but not limited to:
- gathering and documenting business and technical requirements;
- producing technical documentation related to requirements, specifications, traceability matrices, designs, or test scripts; and
- facilitating business and technical analysis meetings and producing detailed meeting agendas and notes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor of Science/Arts degree is preferred.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps is preferred.
- Experience with distributed application architecture is preferred.
- Experience working with state government is preferred.
- Experience working with Florida’s Early Learning Coalitions is preferred.
Deliverables/Tasks:
The Project Manager key deliverables include, but are not limited to the following:
- Providing overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of project-oriented work efforts.
- Attending and/or facilitating meetings with project stakeholder groups.
- Assembling project plans and teamwork assignments; directing and monitoring work efforts daily; identifying resource needs; performing quality reviews; and escalating functional, quality, and timeline issues appropriately to the Program Manager.
- Communicating effectively regarding all major project areas such as scope, risk, and resources.
- Possessing expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as an understanding of the IT organization’s systems and capabilities.
- Working closely with management, other Project Managers, and the IT unit to ensure that the application meets scope, requirements, and project management guidelines.
- Assisting with both internal and external resources to achieve business solutions within project guidelines.
- Identifying and eliminating obstacles to solution plans, business goals or implementation.
- Other duties as assigned.
