Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst with a strong background in the Mortgage domain to join our data and analytics team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, hands-on experience in SQL, Power BI, and AWS, and the ability to transform complex mortgage and financial datasets into actionable business insights. Experience with advanced data tools such as Python, PySpark, Collibra, and Snowflake will be a significant plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze, interpret, and model mortgage-related data to identify trends, patterns, and insights supporting business decisions.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize KPIs, portfolio performance, and operational metrics.
- Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation from multiple data sources.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and data scientists to define data requirements and ensure data quality.
- Work with AWS cloud platforms for data storage, access, and analysis (e.g., S3, Redshift, Athena).
- Support data governance, lineage, and quality initiatives using Collibra (if applicable).
- Assist in automating data workflows and large-scale data processing using Python or PySpark.
- Leverage Snowflake for advanced data modeling and analytics in a cloud-native environment.
- Document processes, data definitions, and reporting logic for ongoing reference and compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
- 9+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst, preferably within the Mortgage or Financial Services domain.
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- SQL (data extraction, joins, optimization)
- Power BI (dashboard development, DAX, Power Query)
- AWS (S3, Athena, Redshift, or Glue)
- Proven ability to work with large, complex datasets and translate them into meaningful insights.
- Strong understanding of mortgage lifecycle data—origination, servicing, underwriting, and secondary markets.
Nice to Have (Huge Plus):
- Python and PySpark for data transformation and automation.
- Collibra for data governance and metadata management.
- Snowflake for advanced data warehousing and analytics.
- Knowledge of data modeling and ETL concepts.
- Exposure to data governance, compliance, or regulatory reporting in the mortgage industry.
