Position: Business Data Analyst (Data Analyst , Power BI)

Location: Austin Texas - 1 day weekly onsite (Monday)

Duration: 8-12 Months (Extendable)
Work hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM (Hours may be flexible).
Interview : Two (2) part interview process (First Phone screening, Final in-person is Must)

1. Experience with utility engineering datasets such as substation, transmission, and distribution systems — Minimum 3+ Years

  • This means the candidate should have at least 3 years of hands-on experience working with data related to the power/utility sector, especially:
    • Substation data
    • Transmission systems data
    • Distribution systems data

These datasets typically include electrical assets, grid infrastructure, power flow data, and operational data used by utility companies.

2. Exposure to NERC, ERCOT, FERC, and Texas PUC regulatory environments — Minimum 3+ Years

This means the candidate must have at least 3 years of experience working in environments governed by U.S. energy regulations, specifically:

    • NERC – North American Electric Reliability Corporation
    • ERCOT – Texas power grid operator
    • FERC – Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
    • Texas PUC – Public Utility Commission of Texas

They should understand regulatory rules, compliance, audits, reporting standards, and operational guidelines.

3. Python for automation, data cleanup, and backend data access — Minimum 5+ Years

The candidate must have 5+ years of strong Python experience, especially in:

    • Automating manual processes
    • Cleaning and preparing messy datasets
    • Accessing and managing backend databases or data pipelines

This is not general Python knowledge—they should be able to build scalable scripts and workflows.

4. Experience with Power Automate — Minimum 3+ Years

The candidate should have at least 3 years of experience using Microsoft Power Automate, typically for:

    • Automating workflows
    • Integrating systems and applications
    • Creating approval flows, notifications, or process automation


WORK DESCRIPTION:

Client team is seeking a System Analyst III to support data analytics, reporting, automation,
process documentation, and engineering operations. This role requires someone who can independently deliver reporting solutions,
automate workflows, support SharePoint enhancements, and partner with engineers to manage technical datasets. The ideal candidate
must translate engineering concepts into structured, meaningful reports and dashboards, perform data manipulation and automation,
and build light application components (SharePoint, Power Automate, Python) needed to support internal workflows. This includes
shaping raw engineering data into usable formats, developing reporting frameworks, and creating repeatable processes that enable the
team to make data-driven decisions.

Essential duties and functions include the following:
1) Enhance engineering operations through data analytics, report development, automation, and documentation
2) Build, update, and maintain dashboards and performance visuals using Power BI
3) Develop and maintain the System Protection Engineering SharePoint site, including forms, workflows, and documentation
repositories
4) Build Power Automate flows for engineering processes
5) Perform Python-based data cleanup, automation, and backend access
6) Assist with internal project coordination and engineering operations support
7) Create process documentation, SOPs, and workflow diagrams
8) Ensure compliance with Client Records Management and Data Governance policies
9) Other related duties and functions may be assigned

WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum (Required):

  • Experience as a Data Analyst, Reports Developer, or Business Systems Analyst.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including PivotTables, formulas, and (preferred) VBA/macros.
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Maintaining and enhancing SharePoint sites.
  • Experience documenting workflows and processes.
  • Experience with utility engineering datasets such as substation, transmission, and distribution systems.
  • Exposure to NERC, ERCOT, FERC, and Texas PUC regulatory environments.
  • Python for automation, data cleanup, and backend data access
  • Experience with Power Automate.
