Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Gen AI Engineer with strong expertise in Agentic AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI application architecture to join a strategic initiative with Wells Fargo. The ideal candidate will lead the design and development of enterprise-grade Generative AI solutions focused on automation, intelligent agents, and scalable AI platforms.
Required Skills:
- 12+ years of overall IT experience with strong backend/platform engineering background
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in Generative AI/LLM-based application development
- Strong experience with:
- Agentic AI frameworks
- RAG pipelines and vector databases
- Prompt engineering and LLM orchestration
- Multi-agent systems and AI workflow automation
- Experience working with OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Llama, or similar LLMs
- Strong Python programming experience
- Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar frameworks
- Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB, or FAISS
- Knowledge of AI model evaluation, guardrails, hallucination mitigation, and AI governance
- Experience building scalable APIs and microservices
- Strong cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and secure AI implementations
- Financial domain experience is highly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop enterprise Gen AI applications using LLMs and Agentic AI frameworks
- Build scalable RAG-based systems integrating structured and unstructured enterprise data
- Develop autonomous AI agents for workflow automation and decision support
- Collaborate with architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders
- Optimize prompt strategies, model performance, and response quality
- Implement AI safety, governance, and monitoring best practices
- Lead technical discussions and mentor engineering teams
- Drive innovation and adoption of Gen AI capabilities across the organization
Nice to Have:
- Experience in banking/financial services domain
- Exposure to MLOps and AI observability tools
- Experience with Neo4j/knowledge graphs
- Certifications in Cloud or AI technologies
