- Job Title: Senior Mainframe Developer
- Location: Onsite – Wilmington, DE (880 Powder Mill Rd)
- Schedule: 5 Days Onsite (Zero exceptions for Hybrid/Remote)
- Pay Rate: $60/hr (10-12 yrs) | $65/hr (12+ yrs) C2C

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Total Experience: 10–14+ years of dedicated Mainframe development.
- CICS Expert: Must have mandatory experience in CICS Screen Programming.
- Messaging/DB: Mandatory hands-on experience with MQ Series and IMS DB.
- Banking Domain: Strong preference for candidates who have worked on banking applications and high-efficiency sub-systems.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills to interface with stakeholders and break down technical "hooks" for non-technical leaders.
- Onsite Commitment: Ability to work 100% onsite in Wilmington, DE without a hybrid arrangement.
Job Summary
We are seeking a high-level Senior Mainframe Developer for a critical onsite role in Wilmington, DE. This position requires an expert-level programmer capable of designing and developing high-concurrency banking applications within a complex ecosystem. You will be responsible for end-to-end development, from architectural design to hands-on coding in COBOL, CICS, and IMS. The ideal candidate has deep experience in CICS Screen Programming and MQ Series, with a proven track record of building secure, high-quality code for banking compliance and regulatory platforms.
Technical Core & Responsibilities
Core Mainframe Development
- Complex Solutions: Develop and implement technical solutions that address complex business challenges, focusing on data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Architectural Design: Prepare detailed architecture and design documents, navigating technical constraints to ensure seamless translation into code.
- Full-Stack Mainframe: Hands-on coding across the full stack: COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2.
Specialized Systems (Mandatory)
- CICS Mastery: Expert-level CICS Programming, specifically including CICS Screen Programming (BMS maps), to support interactive terminal transactions.
- Database & Messaging: Extensive experience coding in IMS DB and MQ Series for reliable, asynchronous messaging and hierarchical data management.
- Region Maintenance: Preferred experience in building and maintaining new Test Regions to support the development lifecycle.
Troubleshooting & Compliance
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot high-impact production problems and collaborate with Product Teams to break down complex requirements into actionable designs.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Preferred experience working within Banking Compliance and Regulatory Platforms, ensuring all code meets strict financial industry security standards.
- Version Control: Maintain code integrity using standard mainframe version control systems (e.g., Endevor or Changeman).
