Location: Philadelphia, PA (Onsite)
Job Type: Full-Time / Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wi-Fi Architect with strong experience in wireless networking, broadband devices, and exploratory testing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Wi-Fi technologies, routers, gateways, mesh systems, and embedded Linux environments. This role requires deep knowledge of Wi-Fi protocols, performance validation, troubleshooting, and network analysis tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform exploratory and functional testing of Wi-Fi features across broadband devices including gateways, routers, and mesh extenders.
• Validate Wi-Fi functionality such as:
• SSID creation and management
• WPA2/WPA3 security configuration
• WPS functionality
• Band Steering and Client Steering
• Roaming and handoff scenarios
• Multi-AP and Mesh network behavior
• Test real-world wireless networking scenarios involving:
• Mobile devices, laptops, smart TVs, IoT devices
• High-density client environments
• Channel congestion and interference conditions
• Conduct performance and stability testing including:
• Throughput validation
• Latency measurements
• Packet loss analysis
• Long-duration soak and stress testing
• Investigate complex and intermittent issues through exploratory testing.
• Analyze logs, packet captures, and system traces for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Reproduce customer-reported issues and collaborate with development and product teams for resolution.
• Create detailed defect reports with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Participate in regression and validation testing activities as required.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of Wi-Fi technologies:
• 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (Wi-Fi 4/5/6)
• 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz wireless networks
• Hands-on experience with:
• Broadband Gateways
• Routers
• Mesh Wi-Fi Systems
• Wireless Extenders
• Experience working with Linux-based embedded systems.
• Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi testing and troubleshooting tools:
• Wireshark
• tcpdump
• iPerf
• Wi-Fi Analyzer tools
• Experience in wireless performance testing and network diagnostics.
• Ability to analyze packet captures and identify network issues.
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with broadband service providers or telecom environments.
• Knowledge of customer-premises equipment (CPE).
• Exposure to RDK-B platforms is a plus.
• Experience testing Wi-Fi 6/6E technologies.
