Detailed Job Description:

Seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join our growing team in support of a federal healthcare enterprise environment, including medical research and administration. This contract provides a full range of infrastructure support to a federal agency including server architecture design & maintenance, application hosting and administration, providing fixes & upgrade patches, and ensuring cyber security compliance protections. The team is responsible for database administration services across a variety of DB technologies including Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, AWS RDS (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle instances), and Sybase. Across those technologies, the team is responsible for:

===>Database server administration and support.

===>Incident management and service request responses.

===>Database monitoring and audit trail research.

===>Disaster recovery and continuity of operations support.

===>Database technology transition including sunset of older database technologies.

===>Database Upgrades and data migration.

===>Off-hours support as needed.

 

Individual Responsibilities:

===>Manage and maintain databases including.

===>Monitor databases and server activities.

===>Database backup and recovery.

===>Lead data migration efforts.

===>Strong written and oral communication skills.

===>Can work across development and operational environments.

===>Ability to multitask and manage multiple simultaneous high priorities a must.

 

Skills & Requirements:

===>A minimum of 15 year experience with several of the following technologies:

===>PostgreSQL.

===>MySQL.

===>MariaDB.

===>Oracle (versions 11g, 12c).

===>Graph Databases (Neo4j, Stardog, Virtuoso).

===>AWS RDS, Redshift.

 

Desired Skills:

===>Proficient in command line functions for all the above databases.

===>Proficient in Linux OS.

===>Oracle 18c preferred.

===>Proficient in Linux Shell scripting.

===>RMAN Backup and Recovery (from disk or tape).

===>Database Export/Import.

===>MobaXterm or similar desktop tools.

===>Excellent troubleshooting skills when dealing with memory, CPU, performance, storage.

===>Adept with database refreshes from various tiers (DEV, PROD, STAGE, QA).

===>Excellent communication skills (written and oral).

===>Hands on experience with:

=====>Mastery over DDL, DML, SQL.

=====>Familiarity with ServiceNow a plus.

=====>Familiarity with SolarWinds a plus.

 

Education: Undergraduate Degree or equivalent is preferred.

Clearance: Ability to obtain an OMB Public Trust clearance.
