What will I be doing?
As a Cloud Engineer with a focus on Data Analytics, you will be an integral part of Client’s cloud team. Integrating into an already robust environment, the skills required of the focus of Data Analytics will allow for Client’s continued growth in this area.
As a cloud engineer at Client, you will play a meaningful role in maintaining cloud standards that enable our organization to operate efficiently, cost effectively, and within compliance standards. Engineers will also assist others in interpreting, understanding, and applying machine learning policies and standards as well as general cloud usage. This position works closely with other members of Client’s cloud organization, support organizations, Information Security and the Legal Compliance organizations in a coordinated and focused manner. Specifically, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting cloud growth in the machine learning space, including, but not limited to AWS Sagemaker and Elastic Map Reduce, while utilizing automation build tools and practicing Infrastructure as Code.
- Creation of architectural artifacts, provide architectural analysis of machine learning features and relate the existing system to future customer requirements
- Continuously tuning the organization’s existing data analytics practices, helping to define, standardize and measure data analytics activities, demonstrating concrete improvements to data analytics platforms within the organization
- Ensuring proper monitoring is crafted to provide support teams capability to respond to issues; develops monitoring and visibility capabilities; reports on incidents, vulnerabilities, and trends
- Integrating into Client’s cloud team across all cloud specialties and standards, not being limited to only data analytics.
What are we looking for?
The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:
- Knowledge of hotel-based IT systems and applications
- Cloud computing experience (AWS) and strong basic knowledge of major cloud components such as: roles, compute, database, object storage, horizontal & vertical scaling
- Experience with data analytics platforms of the major cloud providers with an expected emphasis on AWS Sagemaker and Elastic Map Reduce
- Familiarity with industry standards for Jupyter notebooks, data modeling, base analytics, and collaboration requiring large cloud based datasets
- Familiarity with Hadoop Ecosystems
- Operational knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, Ansible, Terraform, Python, and Agile.
To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
- BA/BS Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or High School Degree plus a minimum of seven (5) years of IT related experience
- Three (3) years of experience with AWS
- Two (2) years of data analytics experience in the cloud
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience with data governance practices and data access management
- Experience with Machine Learning, data mining, and/or data processing tools such as Apark and Databrix is a plus
