Required Skills & Qualifications
- Core Experience: 8+ years of program and project management experience in Agile environments, specifically owning large-scale AI/ML, Data Science, and Analytics initiatives.
- Enterprise Scale: Proven track record of delivering complex technology programs within Fortune 100 or similarly large, complex, or regulated organizations.
- Agile Leadership: Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban) and how to scale them across multiple cross-functional teams.
- Certifications: PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or ScrumMaster certification is required.
- Technical Communication: Ability to translate highly technical AI/ML details into clear, concise, executive-ready summaries and business cases.
- Strategic Business Acumen: Ability to connect AI/ML initiatives to business outcomes, ROI, and measurable operational impact.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field (strongly preferred).
Role Overview
The AI Program Manager will lead the end-to-end delivery of high-priority AI/ML and Data Science programs from inception through production deployment. Based in Denver, this role is accountable for managing timelines, budgets, risks, and measurable outcomes for some of the organization's most complex technical investments. You will partner with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and C-suite executives to transform ambiguous business problems into structured projects with clear milestones. The ideal candidate maintains a "maniacal" eye for detail and a results-oriented mindset, ensuring that technical efforts remain strictly aligned with overarching business strategy and regulatory requirements.
Technical Core & Responsibilities
End-to-End Program Ownership
- Lifecycle Management: Lead AI/ML initiatives from initial ideation and scoping through execution, launch, and post-launch optimization.
- Roadmap Development: Create and manage integrated roadmaps that track dependencies across multiple engineering, data, and product workstreams.
- Resource & Budgeting: Own the accountability for on-time, on-budget delivery, maintaining robust tracking of schedules and KPIs.
AI/ML Execution & Delivery
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Synchronize efforts between Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Data Engineers, and Software Developers to ensure a unified technical vision.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and resolve technical interdependencies and obstacles to maintain team velocity in fast-changing environments.
- Governance & Standards: Ensure all technical efforts align with regulatory requirements and enterprise-wide technology governance.
Executive & Agile Leadership
- Executive Communication: Prepare dashboards and updates for senior leadership to secure buy-in for new initiatives and articulate business tradeoffs.
- Agile Champion: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and experimentation while maintaining strict delivery discipline across multiple Agile teams.
- Operational Excellence: Refine operating models and tooling to support efficient, scalable AI/ML delivery at an enterprise level.
