Mid-level experience handling medium sized projects, managing strong stakeholder input, handling pushback and driving alignment on scope, timelines, and delivery
Hands on experience with enterprise system upgrades, preferably SAP
Some working knowledge of SAP, specifically SAP FICO, high level understanding of SAP Security and ability to partner effectively with SAP technical and business teams
Finance acumen specifically in Investments, general ledger, accounts payable modules, with experience collaborating with Finance partners on enterprise initiatives
Proven ability to communicate clearly, manage risks, and deliver projects on schedule

 

Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Project Manager I oversees the planning, implementation and tracking of specific projects;

defining the beginning, end and specified deliverables.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Defines the scope of the project in collaboration with management.

· Researches and acquires working knowledge of subject matter.

· Creates a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to

successfully complete the project.

· Determines the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project.

· Develops a schedule and detailed timeline for project completion that effectively allocates

the resources to the activities.

· Reviews the project schedule with management and all other staff that will be affected by

the project activities; revises the schedule as required.

· Determines the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its

completion. Executes the project according to the project plan.

· Develop forms and records to document project activities.

· Sets up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured.

· Monitors the progress of the project and adjusts as necessary to ensure the successful

completion of the project.

· Establishes a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in

the organization on the progress of the project.

· Reviews the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to

ensure that it meets the project standards.

· Ensures that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of

quality.

· Evaluates the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.

· Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders

and ensuring technical feasibility.

· Selects, negotiates with and manages activities of external consultants or vendors.

· Communicates with Quality Assurance, business users and development teams on project

requests.

· Handles basic issues and problems; refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

· Performs other related work as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field of study; plus a

minimum of two (2) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of

 

 

education and/or experience.

· Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and

hardware solutions, systems, or products.

· Insurance industry experience a plus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS:

· PMP certification is a plus.

information to clients and respond to questions from groups.

· Ability to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work

environment.

· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Vizio, Microsoft

Project and Outlook.

· Minimal to no travel is required in this position.
