We are seeking an experienced Python Data Engineer with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Looker to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable data
pipelines, optimizing data workflows, and enabling business intelligence through Looker dashboards and reports. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of data architecture, and hands-on experience with cloud-native data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using Python and GCP services.
- Work with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer, and other GCP components to manage large-scale data solutions.
- Develop and optimize data models to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Build and maintain Looker dashboards, explores, and LookML models to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to ensure data availability and quality.
- Implement best practices for data governance, data security, and data quality.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for performance and cost efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of experience as a Data Engineer with a strong background in Python.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Composer, etc.).
- Proficiency in SQL and experience in building complex queries and optimizing performance.
- Strong expertise with Looker (LookML, dashboarding, and reporting).
- Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and warehouse design.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, version control (Git), and modern data engineering practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Airflow or Cloud Composer for orchestration.
- Knowledge of data lake architectures and real-time data processing.
- Familiarity with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) in addition to Looker.
- Understanding of machine learning workflows and integration with data pipelines.
