Job Title : Middleware/API Developer with .NET

Location: Remote

Duration: 3 Months (might extend)

 

 

Description:

We are implementing a new SaaS-based Product Information Management (PIM) platform alongside a headless CMS (Contentful). The core challenge is integrating these systems in a way that enables reliable product data retrieval, search, and content delivery for a customer-facing website.

 

Because the PIM is SaaS-based, the CMS cannot directly call into it the way it previously did with an on-prem database. This requires a middleware layer that manages API calls, data orchestration, search, and transformation between the PIM and the CMS.

This role will own the middleware and API integrations that make this ecosystem function end to end.

 

What You Will Do

• Design and build a middleware solution that connects a SaaS PIM (Akeneo or similar) to Contentful CMS
• Develop, maintain, and support .NET-based APIs and backend services to pull, push, fill, and backfill product content
• Build backend services that orchestrate data between the PIM, CMS, and search layer
• Implement and support search functionality using ElasticSearch
• Ensure product and content data is structured and delivered to support a strong website UX
• Support ongoing API-driven updates and changes to product data
• Partner closely with designers, frontend developers, and internal stakeholders
• Take ownership of backend integration decisions while collaborating closely with the broader team
• Help guide the team through ElasticSearch implementation and best practices

 

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong experience building middleware or integration layers between SaaS platforms
• Hands-on experience developing .NET-based APIs (RESTful services, backend logic, service orchestration)
• Experience working with Akeneo PIM or similar SaaS-based PIM platforms
• Experience integrating headless CMS platforms, ideally Contentful
• Solid database experience and understanding of data modeling
• Experience implementing and supporting ElasticSearch
• Ability to write and maintain backend services and scripts that support search and data retrieval
• Comfortable working in environments where requirements are still evolving
