Position: JAVA FS Developer
Location: San Jose,CA-hybrid 4 days onsite/1 Day remote 
Duration: 6+ Months Contract

The team currently uses PeopleSoft for business tax monitoring but is experiencing issues and recognizes it won’t be sustainable long-term. They plan to run an RFP for a new system implementation, but in the meantime, they’re building an interim application as a temporary solution initially started by the manager. This role will sit within the IT department.
 
Formal Duties
The Senior Systems Applications Programmer position will be responsible for participating in the design and development of the new Business Tax system. The incumbent will implement responsive designs utilizing HTML5, CSS3, SASS/SCSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript, while optimizing front-end performance through methods such as lazy loading, bundling, and caching to ensure cross-browser compatibility. Additional responsibilities include designing, coding, and enhancing web pages, programs, and applications, as well as preparing and maintaining technical specifications, deployment guides, and support documentation.
 
Other details:
Most of the work is front-end, with a little bit of the backend consisting mostly of Oracle views and stored procedures
Oracle database, Java and HTML 5, JavaScript
No frameworks used, custom Java framework developed in-house
Source control is built in within the framework and stored in the database
Familiarity with government business tax licensing rules, sending data to banks, print vendors,  would be beneficial, but not required
We are not using any SAP product, this is all custom development using Oracle and Java
