I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

Client seeks the services of two (2) Senior Full stack Java Developer resources who meet the qualifications outlined under the DIR ITSAC contract for the Applications/Software Development Category.

The selected Candidates will support design, development, testing, documentation, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise-class applications within HHSC. All work products produced during the engagement are considered “works made for hire” and the exclusive property of HHSC.

Candidates may be subject to criminal background checks as allowed by Texas law. HHSC will not pay for interview-related fees.

This position requires the Candidate to be local to the Austin, Texas area.
Candidates currently out of state or planning to relocate will not be considered.

II. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Candidate responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and enhance web-based User Interface (UI) and Web Services
• Utilize modern responsive front-end technologies such as Angular
• Convert SOAP-based services to RESTful services
• Develop RESTful APIs using JBoss EAP
• Participate in requirements analysis, application architecture, technical design, development, and deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional HHSC teams
• Prepare and maintain technical and design documentation
• Perform system analysis and troubleshooting for application issues
• Identify, develop, and implement performance tuning and configuration optimization
• Create and maintain data and process models
• Utilize contemporary testing methods to ensure defect-free software
• Support test and implementation teams
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and test walkthroughs
• Provide application support including defect resolution, maintenance, and production support
• Develop reusable and testable modules and components
• Follow best practices to ensure application scalability, performance, and maintainability
• Other duties as assigned
